Are You Living Your Life With Passion?

Passion EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques

Passion is defined as a powerful, intense emotion that is felt for someone or something.

We can feel passion for a lover, dancing, music, travelling, food, gardening, the environment, a football team…the list is endless.  It is a very strong motivating energy that compels us to act.

To live with passion is to be doing what you are good at and what you love.  It is being authentic and in alignment with your purpose.

* Do you jump out of bed in the morning happy to be alive looking forward to the day ahead?
* Are you grateful for all the good you have in your life?
* Are you full of enthusiasm and anticipation?
* Do you feel energised and motivated knowing in your heart that you are living the life of your dreams?
* Are you doing what you love to do, spending time with people you love to be with?

Or

* Are you living the life somebody else told you that you should live?
* Do you have a whole lot of ‘shoulds’ and obligations in your life?
* Are you just going through the motions, existing, surviving from day to day?
* Are you exhausted and uninspired?
* Do you feel flat and unmotivated?

Can you feel the difference in energy just thinking about what you are passionate about and what you aren’t?

Passion gives us our life force. When we live without passion we lose our zest for life.

A Lack Of Passion

I spent a good deal of my earlier life doing what I thought I should be doing – what other people told me I should be doing and putting everyone else’s needs first.

I was very obedient and skillful at being the ‘good girl’ – studying and working hard, and doing what I was told.

I was constantly looking for approval from the outside, needing validation from others.

I didn’t know what my identity was – it was so shaped by other’s opinions of me.

I was very good at supporting other people to live their passion but put my own needs aside.  I focused on others instead of doing what I was passionate about.

Inspired To Be Passionate

My son Nicholas has taught me a lot about being passionate. He has always been so enthusiastic about the things he loves. First it was trains – starting with a lively interest (some might call it an obsession) in Thomas the Tank Engine, and then steam trains.  He then became fascinated with Star Wars and Dr Who.

He is so focused and driven when he is doing something he is passionate about.  Most recently it has been the Balinese daybed that he made for his Design and Technology major work for the HSC. He was completely absorbed by it and full of pride when it was completed.  His other passions these days are sleep, girls, parties and music (not necessarily in that order).

What  I Am Passionate About Today

More recently I have begun to focus more on my own needs and have become less of a people pleaser.  It does feel more authentic and honest.

As I have begun to know myself I found out what is important to me and the things that I am really passionate about.  Here are just a few of them below:

* Being a mother – bringing up a happy, emotionally healthy child.
* Self-Development – letting go of all the old stuff from the past and living the best life I can.
* Learning – I love to keep an open mind and to discover new things.
* Love – I have been passionately in love and it is a wonderful feeling.
* Being vegetarian and eating healthy whole food.
* Healing – I am really passionate about helping people to heal, and of course using EFT.  When I learnt about tapping I was so excited.  I was so inspired by the stories of people who had used it to heal from major issues such as PTSD, fibromyalgia, smoking, severe back pain and childhood trauma, that I began to use it on my own challenges and found great results.  It has helped me with insomnia, childhood issues, relationship issues and neck pain.  It gives me such joy to be able to see people release both physical and emotional pain that they may have been carrying around for years and move on to make some really positive changes in their lives.
